About the Role

There’s more than one reason why we believe Central Bedfordshire is a great place to live and work. Our attractive market towns and beautiful villages surrounded by stunning countryside, all boosted by a prime location, great transport links and a high performing economy are all part of what makes us great.

We work hard to enable Central Bedfordshire to grow and thrive in a safe and sustainable way. We want to make our area a great place to live and work, and somewhere companies choose to invest.

This is an opportunity for a Class 2 A Registered Building Control Surveyor to join our Building Control team and to help us deliver safe and compliant buildings. In a supportive team environment, you will work closely with colleagues, less experienced team members, our regulatory partners and our applicants and deals with regulatory compliance, enforcement, dangerous structures and all aspects of Building Regulations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
