We are seeking to appoint 2 Building Control Technicians (1x permanent role and 1x 12‑month fixed‑term contract) to join our specialist Building Control team.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the effective delivery of statutory Building Control services, supporting customers through the Building Regulations process at a time of significant change within the service.

The role will also play an important part in preparing for the introduction of the Building Safety Levy, including supporting the development of new processes, systems and statutory returns, and helping the service manage an anticipated increase in applications ahead of the Levy’s commencement.

You will provide high‑quality technical and administrative support to Building Control Surveyors and Registered Building Inspectors, acting as a key link between customers, colleagues and partner organisations. Fast‑paced and customer‑focused, this role is integral to ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act, Building Regulations, and forthcoming Building Safety Levy requirements.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing and administering Building Regulations applications from submission through to completion
  • Acting as a main point of contact for customers, agents and contractors
  • Calculating and processing Building Control fees, invoicing and refunds
  • Booking site inspections and issuing decisions and completion certificates
  • Interpreting drawings, specifications and technical information
  • Processing Initial Notices, Final Certificates and related documentation from Registered Building Control Approvers
  • Supporting Building Control Officers through research, record management and responding to enquiries
  • Assisting with Building Safety Act requirements, including duty holder information and new regulatory processes including the new Building Safety Levy Legislation
  • Maintaining accurate records on back‑office systems, contributing to statutory data returns and compliance with the Quality Management System

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
