Architectural / Building Engineer
Ltd Contract: Outside IR35
Site based: Flintshire
Global Edge are partnering a client through the EPC phase of a major gas terminal development project in the UK and are seeking an Architectural / Building Engineer to support the delivery of architectural and building engineering activities within a major oil and gas construction project in the UK.
The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, architectural subcontractors, vendors, and the client to ensure building design and architectural requirements are effectively coordinated and delivered onsite.
Key Responsibilities
- Review the Client's technical documentation, specifications, and project requirements, maintaining accurate and up-to-date project technical files.
- Coordinate and manage external architectural engineering subcontractors, including the review and technical checking of their design deliverables.
- Review design specifications and coordinate the architectural and structural design of building modules during site execution.
- Provide support on key structural aspects and material selection, ensuring the structural integrity and suitability of buildings and modules.
- Prepare and review architectural design specifications for buildings and provide input into relevant civil works specifications.
- Develop functional architectural layouts based on input from multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Prepare material specifications and the architectural Basis of Design (BoD) for onsite buildings.
- Support the Procurement function by providing technical input and acting as the architectural interface with vendors and suppliers.
- Liaise with the Client and other project stakeholders to resolve technical and design-related issues.

Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' experience in architectural/building engineering activities within a construction or site-based project environment.
- Experience within Oil & Gas, Industrial, Energy, or Commercial construction projects.
- Strong experience in the review and coordination of architectural and building engineering documentation.
- Experience coordinating external engineering subcontractors and reviewing technical design deliverables.
- Understanding of building materials, material specifications, and material management.
- Ability to interpret and coordinate architectural and structural design requirements.
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary project environment.
- Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable Experience
- Previous experience on Oil & Gas, LNG, petrochemical, or energy projects.
- Experience with EPC/EPCM projects.
- Experience with modular buildings.
- Previous brownfield/site-based construction experience.
