DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS

At Skanska, we’re shaping the way we live, work and connect. As one of the world’s largest construction and development companies, we work together with customers, communities and partners to shape a better society.

You will be working in the Building Services division, where we provide complete Facilities Management of properties throughout the UK, providing mechanical and electrical engineering support, cleaning, catering and grounds maintenance on a planned and reactive basis, using technological solutions to manage our teams in the most efficient ways.

We are currently looking for a Building Fabric Maintenance Manager to join the team on our Kent County Council contract. The Building Fabric Manager will be responsible for the Management of maintenance and continuous improvement of a large portfolio across public buildings.

As the Building Fabric Maintenance Manager, you will:

  • Demonstrate you have effective control and governance systems in place to prevent or deal with violations of legal guidelines and internal policies.
  • Produce reports periodically to identify hidden risks or non-conformity issues.
  • Coordinate and facilitate asset management reviews.
  • Review the work of colleagues when necessary to identify issues and make recommendations to the General Manager where the introduction of performance improvement measures may mitigate risk.
  • Lead planned and reactive maintenance activities, manage contractors and budgets, and support projects aimed at improving the condition, sustainability, and performance of the estate.
  • Oversee area supervisors and manage commercial fleet FORS compliance, ensuring contractual KPI delivery across a team of engineers.
  • Be part of the on-Call Management on an agreed weekly basis.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
