About the Role

Mitie is looking for an experienced Multi-Skilled Fabric Technician to maintain essential facilities within an overseas Defence environment.

You will complete planned and reactive repairs across building fabric, carpentry, doors, locks, finishes and basic plumbing support. You will work as part of a small multi-trade team where practical judgement, adaptability and quality matter.

The role will suit a capable maintenance professional who takes pride in durable repairs and understands when to act independently and when to seek specialist support.

What you'll do

  • Complete planned and reactive building-fabric maintenance.
  • Undertake carpentry, door, lock, ironmongery, patch-plastering, tiling, painting and minor-fabric repairs within competence.
  • Support basic plumbing and general maintenance tasks where competent.
  • Inspect defects and identify root causes, risks or further work.
  • Complete repairs safely and escalate specialist or authorised work.
  • Support minor works and approved infrastructure activity.
  • Maintain accurate work orders, defect notes and material requests.
  • Follow health and safety, permit, security and local operating controls.
  • Coordinate with electrical, mechanical and other trade colleagues.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
