Job Title: Building Fabric Technician (Carpenter / Plumber Multi-Trade)

Location: Horsham

Salary: GBP38,000 per annum

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

About The Role

Our client, a leading property maintenance and facilities management specialist across the South of England, is seeking a conscientious and enthusiastic Building Fabric Technician to join their dynamic team in Horsham. This permanent position is ideal for an operative with a core background in Carpentry or Plumbing who enjoys varied, multi-trade commercial maintenance work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks across commercial properties.
  • Diagnose and rectify repairs within your primary trade (Carpentry or Plumbing) and complete secondary trade tasks as needed.
  • Respond swiftly to emergency maintenance calls and work collaboratively with other engineering technicians.
  • Maintain accurate digital records, job updates, and photographic evidence of completed work via PDA/phone.
  • Support management with COSHH inventories, risk assessments, and maintain company vehicles and tools in clean, safe condition.
  • Participate in the emergency out-of-hours call-out rota.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry OR Plumbing (or equivalent qualification).
  • Demonstrated capability in at least 2 secondary trades to a high standard.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a commercial property maintenance or FM environment.
  • Full UK Driving License (Clean preferred).
  • Ability to pass a standard DBS check.
  • CSCS card, PASMA, or IPAF certificates are desirable.
