BMS Commissioning Engineer
This BMS Commissioning Engineer position is based in London and offers a salary of up to £80,000. The role sits within a specialist engineering services provider’s Data Centre Projects team, delivering technically complex BMS solutions across critical environments. The position is hybrid, with regular site-based work, and candidates should be within comfortable travelling distance of Slough, West Drayton or Hayes.
The role offers the opportunity to take ownership of BMS commissioning and technical delivery from initial engineering through to final handover. You will be responsible for reviewing project documentation, verifying installations, commissioning controllers and field devices, carrying out functional testing, and ensuring BMS software, graphics, alarms, trends, schedules and control strategies operate correctly. You will also diagnose and resolve issues across software, controllers, communications, field devices, wiring and mechanical plant.
Working closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors and clients, you will help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standard. Strong hands-on experience with Schneider Electric BMS and EcoStruxure Building Operation (EBO) is highly desirable, alongside experience in data centres or other critical environments.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
