Building Manager

Facilities Management | London

At The Crown Estate, we create brilliant places through conscious commercialism. Our Central London portfolio is home to some of the capital's most iconic destinations, where exceptional customer experience, operational excellence and sustainability come together to create lasting value.

We are looking for an experienced Building Manager to join our Facilities Management team. This is a highly visible role with responsibility for the operational performance, presentation and occupier experience of one or more prestigious buildings within our London estate.

As Building Manager, you will act as the key operational lead on site, ensuring buildings are safe, compliant, commercially well-managed and delivered to the high standards expected across our portfolio. You will work closely with occupiers, service partners and internal stakeholders to create exceptional places where people and businesses can thrive.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading day-to-day building operations across hard and soft FM services.
  • Championing a strong safety-first culture and ensuring statutory compliance, fire safety and contractor management requirements are met.
  • Building trusted relationships with occupiers, providing a responsive, professional and solutions-focused service.
  • Overseeing service partner performance against agreed KPIs, SLAs and service standards.
  • Managing site inspections, quality audits and action plans to continually improve operational performance.
  • Supporting the management of service charge budgets, purchase orders and financial reporting processes.
  • Maintaining oversight of building systems, including mechanical, electrical and life safety infrastructure.
  • Supporting occupier fit-outs, lifecycle projects and improvement initiatives.
  • Driving sustainability initiatives that contribute to The Crown Estate's net zero ambitions.
  • Where applicable, managing and developing Assistant Building Managers.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
