Job Title: Building Manager
Are you a Building Manager who takes pride in the standard of the building you manage and enjoys being visible, hands-on and genuinely involved with your occupiers? We're working with a highly reputable managing agent who is looking for a Building Manager to take ownership of a prestigious commercial and retail asset in Manchester city centre.
This is a recognised asset with a high-profile client, including the local council, so it’s a role where standards, communication and presentation really matter. They’re looking for someone who will make the building their own, build strong relationships with occupiers and take real pride in delivering a first-class service.
The Role...
Your responsibilities will include:
- Taking ownership of the day-to-day management and operation of the asset
- Managing and developing relationships with occupiers, ensuring they receive a first-class service
- Managing service partners and contractors, holding them accountable for performance and standards
- Overseeing planned and reactive maintenance and ensuring the estate is consistently well presented
- Managing service charge budgets and monitoring expenditure
- Ensuring all compliance, health & safety and statutory requirements are maintained
- Working closely with the client and providing regular updates on operational matters, projects and performance
- Managing stakeholder relationships across both internal and external teams
- Supporting and overseeing occupier fit-out and building works where required
- Working closely with the wider regional property management team and sharing best practice
- Identifying opportunities to improve the asset, service delivery and occupier experience
- Supporting ESG initiatives and contributing ideas that can make a genuine difference across the estate
- Taking an active role in working groups, community initiatives and wider business projects

About You...
We're looking for an experienced Building Manager with a strong commercial property background and the confidence to take ownership of a high-profile asset.
You'll ideally have experience across:
- Commercial and/or mixed-use property management
- Contract and service partner management
- Service charge budgets and financial management
- Compliance and Health & Safety
- Planned and reactive maintenance
- Fit-out and contractor coordination
- Client and stakeholder management
- Occupier/tenant liaison
- ESG or sustainability initiatives

An IOSH qualification or relevant Health & Safety training would be advantageous, alongside a good understanding of statutory compliance within commercial property.

Salary: Up to £45,000 + discretionary bonus
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm
Working pattern: Site-based
