About The Role:
Days of Working: Monday to Friday. (Will include some Saturdays, day in lieu)
As a Building Manager, you will lead and inspire on-site teams to deliver exceptional facilities management services, ensuring a seamless and high-quality experience for customers and visitors alike. Supporting the Facilities Manager, you will play a key role in delivering strategic, sustainable, and fully integrated FM services across your allocated building. With a strong focus on creating outstanding workplace environments, you will drive service excellence in line with KPIs and SLA commitments, ensuring performance targets and budget objectives are consistently achieved while supporting wider site and contract goals.
As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Flexible approach due the nature of the site and the likely peaks and troughs in the volume of customers.
- Manage and developing a team of soft service colleagues.
- Working with the Facilities Manager to lead the team to deliver our service standards, maintain HSE excellence and a secure workplace.
- Drive continuous service improvement and sustain a safe environment and improve customer experience
- Actively engaging in the provision of service innovation projects, programs and processes
- Keeping the contract formed and updated
- Accountable for the overall management and control of costs in your area of responsibility for the various service streams within your building
- Manage the computer aided facilities management (CAFM) system to ensure that all jobs are logged and closed and investigated for resolution
- Ensure that all contractors abide to the OCS standards and work in a safe manner
- Provide monthly reports to the Facilities Manager on the works completed for your site
- Carry out appropriate systems forward and departmental security, including locking doors, operating alarms and the security of keys as required
- Demonstrate an understanding and ensure compliance with company, Departmental Health and Safety Procedures
- Follow correct procedures for operating equipment, machinery and materials, ensuring compliance with procedures for reporting defects
- Identify Health and Safety Hazards, complete informal risk assessments, recommend solutions and take action to minimise risk as appropriate
- Ensure the observance of safe working methods and report accidents and incidents in the appropriate manner
- Maintain all risk assessments where appropriate and resolving any issues

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:
- Must have the Right to Work in the UK
- Ability to understand and follow written instructions
- Successful completion of induction and in-house training
- Ability to lead, motivate and provide direction to a diverse team within a challenging environment
- Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements and individual responsibilities
- Understanding of environmental hygiene and its impact on the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Experience working in a customer-focused environment
- Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders
- Flexible approach to work
- Working knowledge of cleaning materials, equipment and procedures
- Basic understanding of cleaning and catering systems
Desirable:
- Experience using cleaning materials and equipment in a professional setting
- COSHH training
- Manual Handling training
- Level 3 Food Safety Management qualification
- IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent Health & Safety qualification)
