BUILDING REGULATIONS CONSULTANT / BUILDING REGULATION PRINCIPAL DESIGNER

London

£60,000 – £70,000 + Extensive Benefit Package

A leading global consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Building Regulations Consultant to join its growing Building Safety / Principal Designer team in London.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Building Control professional or Architectural Technician looking to take the next step in their career within a large, multidisciplinary consultancy, working across a diverse portfolio of complex construction and infrastructure projects.

The Role?

As a Senior Building Regulations Consultant, you will provide specialist Building Regulations and Principal Designer advice to clients and project teams throughout the design and construction lifecycle.

You will work closely with architects, designers, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure projects are designed and developed in accordance with the Building Regulations and Building Safety Act requirements, helping project teams identify, manage, and mitigate risks throughout the design process.

The role would suit someone who has developed their career within Building Control or as an Architectural Technician and has a strong technical understanding of Building Regulations, with an interest in developing their career within Building Regulations Principal Designer services.

About You?

You will ideally come from a Building Control or Architectural Technician background, with strong technical knowledge of Building Regulations and experience working with multidisciplinary design teams:

  • Experience working within Building Control, Building Regulations or architectural design
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Building Regulations
  • Experience reviewing architectural and technical design information for regulatory compliance
  • Understanding of the Building Safety Act and the Building Regulations Principal Designer role
  • Experience working with architects, designers, engineers, contractors across complex projects
  • A good understanding of design risk and compliance throughout the design process
  • The ability to confidently advise clients and influence design teams
  • Relevant Building Control, Building Regulations, Architectural or Construction qualifications
  • Membership of RICS, CABE, CIOB, APS or a similar professional body would be advantageous
