Role Overview

Bellrock Compliance are looking to introduce this new service in their offering to Clients. This exciting role will involve working on a number of projects across public and private sectors on a mixture of new build, refurbishment, tall building remediation, and maintenance schemes, NHS, Universities and data centres. The role involves working on multiple projects across London, Home Counties, and the Southeast, visiting sites and reporting, as well as representing Bellrock Compliance to clients and contractors. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who can demonstrate strong leadership qualities with a ‘can do’ attitude.

The role will include working closely with our clients and internal teams to deliver projects in a safe and compliant manner. We have set high standards for compliance with Building Safety Act and secondary legislation and are looking for individuals who can undertake the BSA PD role with a professional, constructive, and collaborative approach. Client relationships are key to our continued success and as such we strongly promote active client engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing expert advice on the Building Safety Act and Building Regulations.
  • Having relevant knowledge and understanding of Building Safety Act 2022 and other relevant legislation, and being able to apply and implement those requirements at project level.
  • Planning, managing and monitoring design work by conducting plan checks and reviewing designs for compliance with Building Regulations.
  • Cooperating, coordinating and communicating with all duty holders to ensure the design work, if built, complies with building regulations.
  • Preparing written reports (e.g., End of Design Stage Reports) and maintaining Building Regulations Trackers.
  • Liaising with the principal contractor and sharing any information relevant to the planning, management and monitoring of the building work, and the coordination of the building and design work so that it complies with all relevant requirements.
  • Reviewing and regarding all comments from the principal contractor.
  • Assisting the client in providing information to other designers and contractors if requested.
  • Providing a document explaining the arrangement put in place to fulfil their duties no more than 28 days after the end of their appointment.
  • Managing agreed fees, confirming invoicing, closing out appointments, and supporting debtor control.
  • Exploring potential cross-sell opportunities across the wider Bellrock teams.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the construction industry with experience of Building Regulations, leading or reviewing designs.
  • Excellent working knowledge and understanding of BSA 2022 and appropriate legislation.
  • Strong understanding of the design and construction process, with hands-on experience in inspecting buildings and properties.
  • Degree in a construction-related field (design-focused preferred).
  • Membership of RICS, CABE, CIOB, ARB, RIBA is ideal.
  • Full and clean driver’s license.
  • Willingness to travel to varied sites across London, Home Counties, and the Southeast.
  • Well motivated.
  • Good communicator with interpersonal and organisational skills.

Working arrangements

We embrace smarter working practices which offer our employees the opportunity to work their hours flexibly and remotely where their roles and business needs allow. In this role, the successful candidate would be required to work from 6-8 Greencoat Pl, London, SW1P 1PL and home based. Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm.
