Salary: £70,000 - £75,000 + Comprehensive Benefits
Carriera is delighted to be working with a growing specialist consultancy to appoint two Building Regulations Principal Designers. This is a predominantly home-based position, offering the flexibility to work remotely with only occasional travel for team meetings, client visits, and project collaboration.

With an experienced team spread throughout the UK, they offer a collaborative environment where you'll have the autonomy to manage your workload while remaining connected through regular touchpoints with colleagues.
The Role
As a Building Regulations Principal Designer, you'll support clients throughout the design and pre-construction phases, helping project teams meet their duties under the Building Safety Act while promoting effective design coordination and compliance.
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Working alongside architects, developers, and consultants, you'll provide practical guidance on regulatory requirements, contribute to design reviews, and support the successful delivery of projects across multiple sectors.
About You
The consultancy is keen to speak with professionals who have experience in Building Regulations, Building Control, or Building Safety. You'll ideally have experience delivering BR Principal Designer services, although those with a strong Building Control background looking to transition into consultancy are equally encouraged to apply.
Professional memberships or qualifications such as CABE, RICS, RIBA, CIOB, MIFireE, or relevant structural engineering qualifications would be advantageous but are by no means essential.
Most importantly, you'll be a confident communicator who enjoys working collaboratively while being comfortable managing your own diary in a largely remote environment.
