Office/site based; hybrid after probation period.
About the Role
Sterling Estates Management, (SEM), is seeking an organized, proactive and detail-oriented Building Safety Coordinator to support the management of building safety, regulatory compliance and remediation projects across our residential property portfolio. The candidate would be reporting directly to Senior Management Team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with experience in property, compliance, construction, fire safety, housing or project coordination to develop a specialist career within one of the fastest-growing areas of residential property management.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022, coordinating Safety Case Reports, maintaining building safety records and assisting with remediation and fire safety projects across higher-risk residential buildings.
Main Responsibilities
- Coordinate Building Safety Act compliance matters across the SEM managed portfolio.
- Assist in the preparation, maintenance and ongoing review of Safety Case Reports and Building Assessment Certificate submissions.
- Maintain accurate building safety records, compliance trackers and digital "golden thread" information.
- Coordinate Building Safety Fund (BSF), Cladding Safety Scheme (CSS) and other remediation projects.
- Track project milestones, regulatory deadlines, actions and risks, ensuring matters are progressed and escalated where necessary.
- Providing support in the liaison with consultants, contractors, clients, residents, leaseholders, local authorities and regulatory bodies.
- Coordinate fire safety, structural safety and compliance information required to support building safety obligations.
- Review technical reports and prepare concise summaries and recommendations for management and clients.
- Support resident engagement activities and communication relating to building safety matters.
- Arrange meetings, site visits, inspections and follow-up actions.
- Assist in developing and improving internal procedures, compliance systems and document management processes.
- Support SEM Property Management Department with administrative and project coordination activities.

Skills and Experience
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and SharePoint.
- Ability to understand technical information and translate it into practical actions and clear communications.
- Professional and confident approach when dealing with a range of stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.

Desirable Experience
Applicants from any of the following backgrounds are encouraged to apply:
- Building safety and compliance.
- Fire safety or health and safety.
- Construction, surveying or engineering.
- Project coordination or project management.
- Remediation and cladding projects.
- Regulatory compliance environments.
- Document control, records management or quality assurance.
Desirable Qualifications
- IOSH Managing Safely.
- NEBOSH General Certificate.
- IRPM, ATPI, CABE, CIOB or RICS-related qualifications.
- Qualification in Property, Construction, Building Surveying, Engineering, Fire Safety or a related discipline.
- Project management qualification or training.
