The Role

Are you ready to make a real difference in people’s lives while building a rewarding career? At Raven Housing Trust, we’re passionate about creating safe, healthy homes for our residents—and we’re looking for someone who shares that commitment.

As a Building Safety Surveyor, you’ll join a forward-thinking compliance team tackling some of the most important challenges in housing today. This is your chance to play a key role in improving living conditions and shaping services that truly matter.

This is more than a job—it’s an opportunity to be part of a team that values innovation, collaboration, and customer focus. At Raven, we empower our people to lead with purpose. You’ll join an organisation that values belonging, ownership, and collaboration—where your voice matters and your impact is felt across our communities. We’re proud of our inclusive, supportive culture and our commitment to professional development.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you’ll play a crucial part in ensuring our teams have the tools, knowledge, and processes they need to deliver a high-quality service. You will:

  • Ensure surveying, inspection, and remedial works are delivered effectively, maintaining accurate maintenance schedules and achieving agreed standards for quality, cost, and timescales.
  • Lead the procurement and delivery of compliance contracts, ensuring excellent performance, value for money, and customer outcomes, while providing technical and project management expertise.
  • Provide technical oversight of planned maintenance projects, ensuring designs, materials, and delivery comply with building regulations, CDM requirements, health and safety standards, and Section 20 consultation obligations.
  • Provide expert guidance on emerging legislation, regulatory changes, and best practice in building safety, fire safety, and compliance, driving continuous improvement across Raven.
  • Attend and respond to serious building safety and repair emergencies, including out-of-hours call-outs where required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
