Building Security Team Leader
35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between 10:00am and 6:00pm.
Salary: £32,890 to £36,052 per year, including London allowance, with the opportunity to progress to £38,422 per year.
LSE Security, part of the Estates Division, is looking for an experienced and motivated person to join the Professional Services Team as a Security Team Leader based at the Sir Arthur Lewis (SAL) Building.
This is a challenging role as the School continues to grow, with more buildings, students, and activities across campus. LSE operates almost every day of the week, including weekends from 8am to 10pm, and security services are provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
LSE is a unique and highly international university that regularly hosts well-known speakers and important events. Managing the security arrangements for these events will be an important part of the role.
The successful candidate will work with a wide range of people, including senior leaders, academics, students, the Students’ Union, professional services staff, and contractors. Strong communication and people skills are essential.

The post holder will support the Head of Security and the Security Operations Manager, provide leadership to the security team, and respond effectively to emergencies and incidents. They will also be responsible for developing and managing both in-house and contracted security staff, ensuring that all duties are carried out in line with the Security Manual and within available resources.
We Are Looking For Candidates Who Have
- Demonstrable significant experience in security, staff supervision, or customer service.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- The ability to make sound decisions and respond effectively to incidents and emergencies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- An understanding of security procedures and systems, including access control, CCTV, and incident management.
- The ability to build positive working relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, and external agencies such as the Police and Emergency Services.
