Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Building Services Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, analysing, and implementing electrical systems within building environments, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational efficiency. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects that integrate electrical engineering principles with modern system design. Candidates should possess a strong background in electrical systems, system design, and mechanical knowledge, with experience in CAD and simulation tools. The position is paid and suitable for both experienced professionals and interns eager to develop their expertise in electrical building services.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed electrical system designs using AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and SolidWorks.
  • Perform root cause analysis to troubleshoot electrical issues within building systems.
  • Create schematics and system diagrams for various electrical installations and control panels.
  • Utilise programming skills in Python, C++, Perl, and firmware development for automation and control solutions.
  • Design and implement control logic using programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for building automation systems.
  • Conduct signal processing and debugging of electronic circuits to optimise system performance.
  • Analyse system requirements and develop comprehensive system design documentation.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers to integrate electrical components with mechanical systems.
  • Apply surface mount technology (SMT) techniques such as soldering for circuit assembly.
  • Use simulation tools like Simulink and MATLAB to model system behaviour and perform performance analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards through thorough testing and validation of electrical systems.
  • Support the realisation of projects from concept through to installation, including schematic creation and verification.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
