Building Services Engineer (HVAC)
Location: Warrington
Contract Type: Permanent
Purpose of the Job
The Building Services Engineer is key in providing a design engineering service. The Building Services Engineer is responsible for the production of discipline specific design and engineering deliverables to support the project.
Main Purpose of the Role:
The Engineer is principally a hands-on design-based role with a degree of team leadership. The Engineer is responsible for delivering a package of work within a project within their discipline. Frequent liaison with other disciplines in the design team and the client would be expected. The engineers are the main interface between senior management and hands-on design.
Key Accountabilities
- Development of designs to satisfy the technical specification
- Production of design deliverables throughout the design process
- Checking of basic design calculations
- Contribution to design reviews and safety reviews
- Preparation of technical specifications
- Preparation of installation, commissioning, and operating documents
- Ensuring quality and timely delivery of design documentation throughout all phases of the design process
- Compliance with safety and statutory regulations
- Develop cost effective technical solutions
- Provide support during Site surveys, installation and commissioning

Occupational Skills and Knowledge
- HNC (minimum) in a relevant technical / engineering discipline or demonstrable experience
- Associate membership of a discipline specific engineering institution
Duties and Requirements
Essential
- Knowledge of the fundamentals within your engineering discipline
- Previous experience in the design of Building Services (inc: Ventilation and piped services)
- Good understanding of safety legislation and statutory regulations
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
- Commercial awareness
- Knowledge and experience of design software (Typically AutoCAD or similar)

Desirable
- Degree Qualified in a relevant technical/engineering discipline
- Experience in the nuclear industry
- Management of design teams in the technical delivery of projects
- Management of sub-contractors
- Knowledge and use of REVIT software
- Knowledge and use of IESVE design software
- Construction Site experience
