Van Mobile Engineer – Oxford & Midlands
Coverage Area: Oxfordshire & the Midlands
Critical Access Requirement: Easy access to the M40 corridor
Salary: Competitive (plus overtime opportunities)
Hours: 41.25 hours per week
Driving Licence: Required
About The Role
We are recruiting a reliable and experienced Van Mobile Engineer to support contracts across Oxford and the Midlands. Ideal location for an application would be Wheatley/Thame, however we will consider applicants who have easy access to the M40.
Due to the geographical spread of our client sites and operational response requirements, it is critical that candidates live within easy reach of the M40, allowing efficient travel across Oxfordshire and the wider Midlands region.
You will be responsible for planned preventative maintenance and reactive works across a varied estate, operating independently while being fully supported by our internal helpdesk and contract management teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out PPM, servicing and reactive maintenance across multiple client sites
- Attend breakdowns during normal working hours and participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota
- Communicate professionally with clients, subcontractors and suppliers
- Liaise closely with the internal helpdesk and administration teams
- Complete accurate reports, logbooks and compliance documentation
- Keep Contracts Managers informed of job progress and site issues
- Maintain a professional appearance and comply fully with PPE and health & safety requirements

Knowledge & Competencies
- Strong working knowledge of M&E building services
- Experience with HVAC systems including air conditioning, boilers, controls, heating and ventilation
- Understanding of Legionella control
- Good knowledge of health and safety legislation
Qualifications & Experience
- City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Time-served mechanical or maintenance engineer (apprenticeship preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Full UK driving licence

- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Confident in fault-finding and decision-making under pressure
Location Requirement
This role requires engineers to be based within easy access of the M40 to support efficient travel between Oxfordshire and Midlands-based sites. Ideal applicants would be located in Wheatley/Thame.
