We are looking for a skilled and reliable Building Services Fabric Engineer to join our team at Lakeside Shopping Centre. This is a key role supporting the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of a high-profile retail environment, ensuring the site remains safe, compliant, and presented to the highest standard.
Working as part of a wider engineering team, you will support the Contracts Manager in delivering exceptional service to our clients while contributing to the smooth operation of the centre.
Package & Benefits
Location: Lakeside Shopping Centre
Salary: up to £41200 depending on experience plus overtime and callout
Hours: 40 hours a week

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive fabric maintenance across the site
- Perform general building fabric tasks including carpentry, painting, basic plumbing, patch repairs, and flooring
- Support the wider engineering team with maintenance activities when required
- Assist in ensuring the site meets all health, safety, and compliance requirements
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and client needs
- Maintain accurate records of work completed through CAFM systems or job sheets
- Identify and report defects, and recommend improvements where necessary
- Support the Contracts Manager in delivering a high standard of service to the client

Skills And Experience
- Proven experience in a building services or fabric maintenance role
- Good all-round knowledge of building fabric repairs and maintenance
- Experience working within commercial or retail environments preferred
- Strong understanding of health and safety practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Flexible approach to work and willingness to support out-of-hours activities if required
Desirable
- Relevant qualifications in carpentry, joinery, or building maintenance
- Experience working in a large, multi-site or public-facing environment
- Familiarity with CAFM systems
