BAM UK & Ireland is currently recruiting for a Building Services Manager for our construction segment of the business and join the team and based out of our offices in Stepps. This is a full time role with mix of office, sites in the central belt of Scotland and home hybrid working. BAM operates a flexible working policy.
Your mission
The successful candidate should be experienced in managing design, delivery, and commissioning of Building Services in a construction environment.
- Preconstruction responsibilities will include working with the Tender & Preconstruction Teams to ensure the clients requirements are met and any proposals reflect the needs of the contract.
- There will also be a requirement for vetting of subcontractors’ tender returns for compliance against ER’s.
- To ensure that all Building Services needs are met, reflected in the building and fabric with information being provided in sufficient time.
- Supporting Site Management and H&S Teams with review of method statements and safe systems of work.
- Managing the Design, Drawings, and approvals process in line with the Programme.
- Supporting Planning Teams & Project Manager in making sure building services are fully integrated into the delivery programme.
- Making sure projects comply with building regulations, planning conditions, specifications and BREEAM.
- Establishing and managing quality systems to make sure high standards and specifications are met, also carry out quality control inspections using BIM 360.
- Monitoring progress against targets and assisting the project management team with reviewing the progress against programmes.
- Chair weekly or bi-weekly rolling progress meetings with principle sub-contractors (fully minuted).
- Support the commercial teams with reviewing any changes to contract and valuations of the work.
- Managing the commissioning process and training to make sure all systems operate as design, design and validation teams are satisfied and building users trained in operation.
- Provision of utility quotations and site temps.
- Ensure ‘as installed drawing’ and O&M Manual are completed / issued.
- Attending client progress and technical meetings as required.
- Management of sub-contractors installation works, programming, quality, testing and commissioning and management of all health and safety aspects of the works.

Who are we looking for?
- Demonstrable experience within a similar role.
- Skilled in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
- Technically qualified with a back ground including commissioning.
- Good communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to communicate at all levels.
- Works well within a team environment with good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent IT skills and experience is using Microsoft Office.
- Dynamic and ambitious.
- Ability to plan own work, using own initiative, with a can-do and willing attitude.
