Building Services Manager
Location: North East – Projects across the North
Our client is a well-established construction business with an expanding workload across the UK, delivering new build, fit out and refurbishment projects across a range of sectors.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Building Services Manager to oversee mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) services across a portfolio of projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Building Services professional looking for a role offering responsibility, variety and the opportunity to work on projects nationwide.
The Role
As Building Services Manager, you will take responsibility for overseeing MEP services from the design stage through to project completion, working closely with project teams, clients, consultants and specialist subcontractors.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing and coordinating MEP services throughout the project lifecycle.
- Overseeing building services from design through to installation and completion.
- Working closely with architects, engineers and subcontractors to ensure effective integration of MEP systems.
- Reviewing technical drawings, specifications and design information.
- Overseeing subcontractors and ensuring works are delivered to the required standards.
- Monitoring project progress, programme and quality.
- Identifying potential issues and implementing appropriate solutions.
- Carrying out site inspections and ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients in relation to Building Services.
- Providing regular project updates to clients, project managers and senior management.
- Ensuring MEP installations meet relevant regulations, standards and specifications.
- Supporting the successful delivery of multiple projects across the UK.

About You
The successful candidate will have a strong technical Building Services background and proven experience managing MEP services within the construction industry.
You will ideally have:
- A relevant qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Building Services or an MEP-related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in Building Services Management.
- Experience managing MEP services on large-scale construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and fire protection systems.
- Good understanding of relevant regulations, codes and industry standards.
- Proven experience managing specialist subcontractors.
- Strong project management and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- A strong focus on quality, safety and client satisfaction.
- The flexibility to travel nationally to project sites.
