Hays are delighted to be partnering with a globally recognised engineering and professional services consultancy to recruit a Building Services Lead for their growing Bristol office.
This is a high-profile leadership opportunity for an experienced Building Services professional who is passionate about technical excellence, business growth and developing high-performing engineering teams. Joining a well-established multidisciplinary practice, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the Building Services offering across Bristol, the South West and Wales.
Working across diverse sectors including commercial, healthcare, defence, education, transport, energy and advanced manufacturing, you will have the opportunity to influence complex and high-value projects while driving sustainable and innovative engineering solutions.
Your new role
As Building Services Lead, you will take ownership of developing and growing the regional Building Services capability, leading multidisciplinary teams and strengthening client relationships across the local market.
- Act as a visible leader within the business, championing technical excellence, supporting work-winning activities and ensuring successful project delivery across a varied portfolio.
- Provide strategic leadership for the Bristol Building Services team, driving growth, technical excellence and operational performance.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients across Bristol, the South West and Wales.
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary MEP engineering solutions across all project stages.
- Take responsibility for project delivery, including programme management, technical quality, commercial performance and client satisfaction.
- Support business development activities, bid preparation and fee proposals.
- Lead, mentor and develop engineering teams, fostering a positive and collaborative culture.
- Champion sustainable, low-carbon and energy-efficient building services design.
- Ensure compliance with UK regulations, industry standards and best practice.
- Drive innovation through the use of digital engineering and BIM technologies.

What you'll need to succeed
- Degree qualification in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng).
- Significant experience leading Building Services engineering teams and projects within a consultancy environment.
- Strong technical expertise across Mechanical, Electrical and/or Public Health Engineering.
- Proven experience developing client relationships and securing new business opportunities.
- Commercial awareness with experience contributing to bids, tenders and fee proposals.
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of BIM and digital design tools such as Revit, Navisworks or similar.
- A passion for mentoring and developing engineering talent.
