Barford Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Building Services Supervisor to play a vital role in maintaining and developing our school site.
Permanent, part time.
Term time plus 3 weeks.
20 hours per week.
Salary: £24,796 - £28,142 pro rata
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys variety in their day and wants to make a real difference to the lives of children, staff and the wider community.
Working as part of our dedicated team, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the school premises, ensuring our buildings and grounds remain safe, secure, welcoming and fit for purpose. From coordinating maintenance projects and carrying out repairs to overseeing health and safety, security and sustainability initiatives, no two days will be the same.
What You'll Be Doing
- Working alongside the Building Services Manager
- Leading the smooth operation of our school site and facilities.
- Carrying out practical maintenance and repair work.
- Supervising contractors and supporting planned building projects.
- Managing site security, opening and closing procedures and alarm systems.
- Supporting health and safety compliance, statutory testing and fire safety.
- Helping to develop and improve our learning environments both inside and outside the school.
- Promoting sustainable practices and energy efficiency across the site.
- Supporting lettings and community use of the school facilities.

We're Looking for Someone Who:
- Has experience in premises, facilities or site supervision.
- Possesses practical trade skills such as carpentry, basic plumbing, decorating and general maintenance.
- Understands the importance of health and safety and site security.
- Is well organised and able to prioritise a varied workload.
- Can communicate effectively with staff, pupils, contractors and visitors.
- Is a team player who can also work independently and use initiative.
- Is committed to maintaining high standards and taking pride in the appearance of our school.
