🏗️ Building Surveyor – Essex

💰 £45,000 – £50,000 DOE + bonus 📍 Essex – Romford, Chelmsford & surrounding areas 🏠 Remote / Flexible Working 🎓 AssocRICS required 🚗 Mileage allowance

We’re currently working with a growing surveying business that is looking to appoint an experienced Building Surveyor to join its expanding team.

This is a great opportunity for an AssocRICS-qualified Building Surveyor with at least 5 years’ experience, looking for greater autonomy, flexible working, and genuine long-term progression.

🔎 The Role

You’ll primarily cover Essex, Romford, Chelmsford, and the surrounding areas, with occasional travel further afield when required. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking RICS Level 2 and Level 3 Building Surveys
  • Inspecting residential and other property types
  • Identifying defects, construction issues, and areas of concern
  • Producing clear, technically accurate reports in line with RICS standards and reporting requirements
  • Providing professional recommendations and observations
  • Managing your own diary, inspections, and workload
  • Maintaining strong client relationships and delivering excellent customer service
  • Keeping up to date with relevant RICS standards, regulations, and industry best practice
  • Working collaboratively with the wider surveying team through regular team catch-ups

👤 About You

We’re looking for an experienced Building Surveyor who takes pride in the quality of their work and can operate confidently and independently. You’ll ideally have:

  • ✅ AssocRICS qualification
  • ✅ 5+ years’ Building Surveying experience
  • ✅ Strong experience delivering RICS Level 2 & Level 3 surveys
  • ✅ Excellent report-writing and attention to detail
  • ✅ Strong technical knowledge of construction, defects, and property condition
  • ✅ Excellent communication skills
  • ✅ The ability to manage your own workload effectively
  • ✅ A professional and client-focused approach
  • ✅ Full UK driving licence
