Building Surveyor – Damp and Mould – Social Housing – North East

Venn Group are recruiting for 2 experienced Building Surveyors to join a Social Housing organisation on an interim basis. These Building Surveyor roles will focus on damp and mould surveys across housing stock covering North East.

This Building Surveyor opportunity is ideal for someone with strong Social Housing surveying experience, confident diagnosing damp, mould, condensation and property defects within occupied homes.

The role

As a Building Surveyor, you will carry out damp and mould surveys across occupied housing stock. The Building Surveyor will attend scheduled appointments, inspect properties, diagnose causes of damp and mould, and provide clear recommendations for remedial works. All jobs will be scheduled by the internal team, allowing the successful Building Surveyor to focus on completing accurate surveys, reports and customer focused property inspections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out damp and mould surveys across Social Housing properties
  • Inspect occupied homes and diagnose property defects
  • Identify causes of damp, mould and condensation
  • Recommend appropriate remedial works
  • Complete clear survey notes and inspection reports
  • Liaise professionally with tenants and internal teams
  • Work across Middlesbrough, Scarborough and surrounding areas
  • Use provided equipment to complete inspections accurately

About you

  • Experience working as a Building Surveyor, Damp and Mould Surveyor, Repairs Surveyor or Property Surveyor
  • Strong Social Housing surveying experience desirable
  • HNC or Building Surveying degree required
  • Confident inspecting damp, mould, condensation and property defects
  • Good communication skills when working with tenants
  • Able to start from 14th September
