FindCore are thrilled to be assisting a leading multidisciplinary property and construction consultancy with the recruitment of a Building Surveyor (Associate Director or Director).

This is a full-time, permanent position based in Manchester, with hybrid working.

Following significant investment, the consultancy has ambitious expansion plans across Building Surveying, Project Management and Cost Management. This is an opportunity to lead and grow its Manchester Building Surveying service, with considerable autonomy to develop client relationships, win new work and recruit a team around you.

The role would suit an established Associate Director or Director, or an experienced senior Building Surveyor ready to take the next step.

Salary

  • Competitive salary + bonus + pension.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and growth of the Manchester Building Surveying service.
  • Develop new and existing client relationships across Manchester and the wider North West.
  • Build a sustainable pipeline of work, leading proposals, tenders and client presentations.
  • Work with the consultancy’s Project Management and Cost Management teams to identify opportunities across the existing client base.
  • Recruit, manage and develop a Building Surveying team as the workload grows.
  • Take responsibility for fees, resourcing, utilisation, profitability and overall team performance.
  • Provide senior technical oversight across professional and project-based Building Surveying services.
  • Oversee building and condition surveys, planned preventative maintenance programmes, technical due diligence and building pathology investigations.
  • Oversee Schedules of Condition, Dilapidations and Reinstatement Cost Assessments.
  • Lead refurbishment, maintenance, repair and insurance reinstatement projects, including Contract Administrator and Employer’s Agent appointments.
  • Maintain technical standards and quality controls, providing guidance and mentoring to colleagues.
  • Work closely with the wider UK leadership team to shape the service’s strategy and long-term growth.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
