Company Description

Efficient Surveyors Ltd is a specialist consultancy providing advice on energy efficiency upgrades and retrofit solutions for a wide range of buildings. The team delivers retrofit assessments and coordination, as well as thermal bridging calculations and technical monitoring to improve building performance. The company also undertakes damp and mould assessments to support healthier internal environments. In addition, Efficient Surveyors Ltd offers quantity surveying, construction project management, and health and safety services for construction sites, giving clients comprehensive support from planning through delivery.

Role Description

The Building Surveyor will work on-site in the North West Area, United Kingdom, on a contract basis, undertaking a variety of surveying and inspection duties. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

The role involves:

  • Conducting feasibility studies to evaluate proposed works
  • Supporting contract management
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure projects meet technical, safety, and quality standards

The candidate must be aware of level 2 and level 3 RICS reports, and additional support will be provided to meet the standards of reports.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Building Surveying and Condition Surveys to assess building fabric, services, and overall condition.
  • Experience conducting Feasibility Studies for building works, refurbishments, and retrofit or energy efficiency projects.
  • Strong skills in Contract Management, including administering contracts, monitoring performance, and managing project risks.
  • Knowledge and experience in Dilapidations, including preparing schedules, advising on obligations, and negotiating settlements.
  • Relevant professional qualification or degree in Building Surveying or a closely related discipline.
  • Understanding of retrofit, energy efficiency measures, and building pathology (including damp and mould issues).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise technical reports.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Membership of RICS (MRICS or AssocRICS) is compulsory for this role.
