Konker is recruiting for a Senior Chartered Building Surveyor to join a well-established, family-run multi-disciplinary consultancy based on the outskirts of Portsmouth.
With a team of around 24 people and exceptionally low staff turnover, this is a business built around collaboration, trust, and long-term careers.
- You’ll be joining a close-knit Building Surveying team with the opportunity to step into a leadership role, help shape the future of the department, and work towards potential equity share in the business.
- The practice delivers a wide range of projects across the South of England, with around 90% of work focused on MOD schemes alongside Central Government, education, local authority, and private sector clients.
- You’ll work closely with Architects and M&E Engineers on technically interesting, high-quality projects.

The Role: Senior Chartered Building Surveyor
- Lead and deliver a broad range of Building Surveying projects
- Manage MOD and public sector schemes from inception to completion
- Carry out surveys, defect diagnosis, and condition reports
- Prepare specifications, schedules of work, and contract documentation
- Oversee projects on site and manage contract administration
- Support the growth and future direction of the Building Surveying team
What They’re Looking For: Senior Chartered Building Surveyor
- MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor
- Strong project and professional surveying experience
- Confident working with public sector or defence-related projects
- Ambition to take on leadership responsibilities
