Building Surveyor (Disrepair) – Make a Real Difference to Residents' Homes
We're looking for an experienced Building Surveyor (Disrepair) to join our Repairs Team, managing legal disrepair cases and helping ensure residents receive a high-quality, timely and professional service.
This hybrid role includes attendance at Ealing Gateway every Wednesday, alongside a second administrative day at a local hub.
What You'll Be Doing
- Manage legal disrepair cases from inspection through to completion.
- Carry out property inspections, diagnose defects and prepare technical reports and specifications.
- Specify repairs, estimate costs and manage contractor performance.
- Monitor works, complete post-inspections and ensure repairs meet required standards.
- Keep residents informed throughout the process, providing excellent customer service.
- Maintain accurate records and support legal and compliance requirements.

You'll be supported by a dedicated administrative team, allowing you to focus on surveying, inspections, reporting and contractor management.
What You'll Bring
- Degree, HNC or HND in Building Surveying, Building Pathology or a related discipline.
- Strong experience managing disrepair cases within social housing.
- Knowledge of building defects, construction methods and relevant housing legislation.
- Experience producing technical reports, specifications and schedules of work.
- Strong contractor management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied caseload.
Desirable
- RICS membership or working towards professional accreditation.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

This role requires a Basic DBS check.
Attendance at Ealing Gateway every Wednesday is required.
First stage interviews will be on MS Teams on Monday 21st September.
Second stage interviews will be held in person at our Ealing Office on Friday 25th September.
