Building Surveyor Manager (2 Positions)

Permanent | Full-Time | Hybrid Working (2 Days Onsite)
Grade 11 - £48,738 to £50,908 per annum

A large local authority is seeking two experienced Building Surveyor Managers to join its Property and Housing team. This is an excellent opportunity for building surveying professionals to lead the delivery of repairs, planned maintenance, capital programmes, and housing improvement projects across a substantial residential portfolio.

The Role

As a Building Surveyor Manager, you will lead a team of surveying professionals, managing maintenance programmes, capital projects, contractor performance, and compliance activities while ensuring high-quality services for residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of Building Surveyors and technical staff
  • Deliver planned maintenance and capital investment programmes
  • Manage refurbishment and housing improvement projects from inception to completion
  • Provide expert advice on building defects, repairs, and construction matters
  • Oversee contractors, procurement activities, and contract performance
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety and statutory requirements
  • Manage budgets and build effective relationships with key stakeholders

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A degree or professional qualification in Building Surveying, Construction, or a related discipline
  • At least 5 years' post-qualification experience within building surveying, maintenance, or construction
  • Experience managing teams and delivering complex projects
  • Strong contract management and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Knowledge of building maintenance, construction, procurement, and health and safety legislation
  • IOSH Managing Safely or an equivalent qualification
