About the Role
The successful candidate will be part of a team of building surveyors covering all aspects of professional and project-related building surveying across a wide range of sectors including educational, commercial, industrial, etc. Our team has a broad-based background, is a highly motivated group with varying levels of experience, so is the ideal place to progress your career in the profession.
The role will cover the full spectrum of building surveying services including (but not limited to) design and specification, clerk of works, contract administration surveys, and dilapidations.

Key Responsibilities
- Delivering projects, commissions, and professional services.
- Maintaining effective communication to ensure all information is available for successful completion of the projects.
- Representing the company in a professional and diligent manner and help to promote Ridge and Partners by engaging with clients and attending networking events.
- Assisting with building surveys, taking particulars on site, attending meetings, writing up specifications, obtaining estimates, planning maintenance programmes, and administering contracts for maintenance work.
- Supporting the Building Surveying team on complex multi-disciplinary schemes.
- Helping with analysing and reporting on building defects.
- Supporting the Building Surveyors with preparing schedules of dilapidations and negotiating settlements.
- Assisting with the supervision of building work on site.
- Assisting the Building Surveyors with providing advice on the design, construction, maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of all types of property.

Skills and Experience Required
- Relevant degree (RICS approved, 2:1 minimum).
- Well organised, diligent, and proactive.
- A full driving licence.
- Good IT skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, AutoCAD, NBS, and other software).
- A team player.
As a Building Surveyor at Ridge and Partners, you will need to demonstrate the desire, drive, and a real enthusiasm to becoming a Chartered Building Surveyor which will be fully supported by the company (the national Ridge APC support process) and the local Building Surveying Team. You will need to be personable, presentable, and have good communication skills in this client-facing role. An ability to produce your own documentation based on our standards is essential, as is an ability to organise, manage your time efficiently in the delivery of the services for multiple projects at any one time.
