Your new company Fantastic new opportunity to join an established successful consultancy now looking for a Building Surveyor to join the team in Preston. This is a hybrid working role working across the public sector with a lot of work on education schemes. Offering full support to become chartered in a dynamic supportive team. The role would ideally suit someone with a few years of demonstrable industry experience.
Your new role
- Design and manage construction projects, overseeing the planning, execution, and completion stages to ensure compliance with specifications, regulations, and client requirements
- Administer construction contracts, such as JCT forms, ensuring adherence to terms and conditions, payment schedules, and dispute resolution procedures.
- Financial management of construction projects and reporting to clients.
- Conduct thorough site inspections and surveys of buildings, including residential and commercial properties.
- Utilise various tools and techniques to assess the condition of buildings, identifying structural issues, defects, and potential hazards.
- Prepare detailed reports outlining survey findings, project proposals, and recommendations for repairs, maintenance, or renovation
- Provide expert advice and guidance to clients regarding building regulations, codes, standards, and compliance requirements throughout the project life cycle.
- Attend meetings, site visits, and presentations as required to support project objectives and facilitate effective communication among project team members.

What you'll need to succeed
- You will have demonstrable building surveying experience in a similar role. Including construction project management, and contract administration, preferably in a consultancy or surveying firm.
- Strong knowledge of building construction, materials, techniques, regulations, and contract law, including familiarity with JCT contracts.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines within budgetary constraints
