Building Surveyor / Senior Building Surveyor

Central London | £45,000 - £80,000 + 10% Bonus | 2-3 days WFH

An established and growing property consultancy is seeking a Building Surveyor or Senior Building Surveyor to join its London team.

We're keen to speak with candidates ranging from APC level surveyors looking to take the next step in their career through to experienced MRICS-qualified professionals capable of leading projects independently. Salary and responsibilities will be tailored accordingly.

The Role

Working within a team of five surveyors, you will be involved in:

  • Contract administration and project delivery on refurbishment and major works projects up to £1.5m.
  • Preparation of specifications, schedules of work, and tender documentation.
  • Capital expenditure planning and lifecycle forecasting.
  • Defect diagnosis and preparation of technical reports.
  • Licences to Alter.
  • Party Wall matters.
  • Condition surveys and planned maintenance inspections.
  • Client and stakeholder liaison throughout project lifecycles.

About You

Applicants could come from either a Building Surveyor or Senior Building Surveyor background. You will ideally have:

  • Building Surveying degree or equivalent.
  • Private practice experience.
  • Experience delivering contract administration/project work.
  • Knowledge of JCT contracts.
  • Exposure to defect diagnosis and planned maintenance.
  • Strong client-facing communication skills.

The client can consider:

  • ✅ APC candidates seeking support toward chartership.
  • ✅ AssocRICS or MCIOB professionals.
  • ✅ MRICS Building Surveyors looking for a Senior Building Surveyor position.

Private practice experience is important, although candidates with a mixture of consultancy and client-side experience will also be considered.

Package

  • £45,000 - £80,000 basic salary. + 10% annual bonus.
  • Hybrid working (2-3 days from home).
  • Central London office location.
  • APC support available.
