Are you an experienced procurement professional looking for a rewarding role with a global leader in engineering and defence? This company is seeking a talented Buildings and Construction UK Buyer to join their procurement team on a contract basis through to December 2026.
About The Role
The Buildings and Construction UK Buyer position offers the chance to make a real impact within a dynamic, international organisation. As a Buildings and Construction UK Buyer, you'll be at the heart of strategic procurement initiatives, driving compliance and delivering exceptional value across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead procurement strategy development for the Buildings and Construction category
- Drive compliant procurement processes and lead cross-functional project teams
- Negotiate and establish national and international frame contracts
- Monitor supplier performance and implement recovery actions when needed
- Contribute to savings targets and secure supply chain efficiency
- Ensure services are delivered on time, on quality, and within budget
- Provide expert guidance on procurement building contracts and processes

What We're Looking For
To succeed as a Buildings and Construction UK Buyer, you'll need:
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, operations, or facility management
- Proven experience in setting up procurement strategy within the Buildings and Construction category
- Project management experience (building projects highly valued)
- Advanced negotiation and people management skills
- Strong business analytical abilities
- Knowledge of procurement building contracts
- Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams

The Details
- Location: Broughton, Chester (3 days per week on-site; Tuesday and Thursday mandatory)
- Hours: 35 hours per week (flexible between 7am-7pm)
- Pay Rate: Up to £44.00 per hour (Umbrella); Up to £32.89 per hour (PAYE)
- Security Clearance: BPSS+ required
- IR35 Status: Off-payroll working rules apply
- Travel: Limited travel to other UK sites may be required
