Built Environment Asset Support Manager
Grade: SMF1
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £67,283
Location: Palestra, Southwark (Hybrid / Office)

Job Purpose
As the Built Environment Asset Support Manager, your primary purpose is to provide technical support and information within APD Built Environment to ensure all assets are maintained to meet optimum availability, reliability, safety, operational, and engineering standards. Ensuring that all assets and associated elements within the span of control are 'fit for purpose'.
Support the mitigation of asset risks on BE Assets within the span of control to improve the customer experience through meeting Safety, Performance, and Quality standards to support TfL’s business targets, statutory and legal obligations, and contractual responsibilities.
Key Accountabilities
- Interpreting and analyzing technical information to provide support to the Asset Management Team.
- To implement asset risk mitigations for optimization of maintenance.
- Responsible for supporting Built Environment Asset Delivery Manager in managing the Safety Improvement Plan. Providing evidence to ensure compliance with LU Standards and governance and preparing for annual audits.
- Responsible for supporting the Asset Management Team to produce the Local Risk Register (Tactical Risk Register[s]) and record associated asset mitigations (short / medium / Long term resolution) including the raising of Work Order and Budget Estimate in the AMS.
- Identification / implementation of mitigations associated with Asset Risks.
- Support the production of compelling business cases for works to secure funding (Data Improvements / Efficiencies / Synergies / Research and Development etc).
- Provide technical support to the Asset Management Team relating to risks / subject matter expertise to enable the delivery of the annual Corrective Work bank and Minor Works.
- Responsible for producing technical information (scopes / works briefs / works information) associated with Built Environment assets.
- Responsible for technical reviews of works proposals to ensure compliance with relevant Industry Best Practice / Legislation / TfL Engineering Standards, Procedures, and Guidance.
- Responsible for the review of BE Works Safety Documentation associated with works delivery.
- Deputise for the Built Environment Asset Manager(s) as required to cover day-to-day business requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience
Knowledge
- Academic - HND/HNC/Foundation Degree in relevant Engineering area (Civil / Structural / Construction / Building Surveying / Architecture) or similar (Essential).
- Working knowledge and understanding of Built Environment assets within competency area and technical / design reviews to TfL Standards / Procedures / Industry Best Practice (Essential).
- Working / Demonstrable knowledge of implementing asset management procedures (Desirable).
- Working / Demonstrable knowledge of implementing relevant Health, Safety, and Environment legislation and best practices (Desirable).
Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (Essential).
- Ability to analyze complex data, draw conclusions, produce reports, and make recommendations to senior management (Essential).
- Well-developed ability to apply technical solutions in a business-driven, customer-focused context within defined budget limits and constraints (Essential).
- Able to work independently with limited guidance, quickly understand complex issues and tasks (Essential).
- Able to work to tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment while managing conflicting priorities (Essential).
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to active common business objectives (Desirable).
- Demonstrable ability to maintain and update knowledge through formal and self-directed learning (Essential).

Experience
- Extensive experience in relevant engineering discipline with demonstrable experience within TfL or similar industry (Essential).
- Experience of carrying out technical / design review and analysis (Essential).
- Experience of managing safety and investigating safety-related incidents (Desirable).
- Experience of working with multiple stakeholders both internally and externally (Desirable).
