Business Acceptance Manager

We are working with a global law firm to hire a Business Acceptance Manager for their London office. In this role you will oversee the performance of the business acceptance function, managing operational workflows, resourcing, and controls while driving process improvements across new business intake.

The firm is looking for an experienced compliance professional with substantial prior experience in new business intake, financial crime, and conflicts within a law firm environment. Candidates must possess significant hands-on expertise with specialised intake software and proven experience leading and managing a high-performing team. The ideal candidate will combine strong organisational skills with the confidence, interpersonal agility, and commercial mindset needed to influence senior stakeholders and deliver meticulous risk management in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the performance of the business acceptance team against internal policies, practices, and service level agreements.
  • Managing resourcing and work allocation across the department, assigning matters based on team capacity and developmental goals.
  • Partnering with internal conflicts, financial crime, and legal teams to address evolving regulatory requirements and serve as a point of escalation.
  • Acting as a key stakeholder in the continuous optimisation, design, and management of business intake systems and workflows.
  • Collaborating with internal talent teams to ensure rigorous risk management oversight during lateral recruitment processes.
  • Advising fee earners and business operations as a trusted internal subject matter expert on onboarding procedures.
  • Partnering with internal learning academies to design and deliver effective compliance training for team members and the wider firm.
  • Driving operational innovation across onboarding processes to enhance service efficiency and support business growth.
