Business Account Manager – Grocery
Alexander Steele is working in partnership with a leading UK food manufacturer to recruit a Business Account Manager to join its Grocery Sales team.
This is a 100% account management role, taking ownership of key retail relationships with a particular focus on Morrisons.
The role will include:
- Managing and developing key grocery retail accounts, with significant responsibility for the Morrisons relationship
- Building strong relationships across multiple customer contacts and functions
- Leading commercial negotiations and identifying opportunities for account growth
- Managing account P&Ls, forecasts and commercial performance
- Supporting and project managing own-label product development and customer launches
- Working closely with internal commercial, development, operations and supply chain teams
- Managing multiple customer projects and priorities simultaneously
- Developing long-term account plans and identifying new commercial opportunities

The ideal candidate will have:
- Account Management or Key Account Management experience within FMCG
- Experience managing grocery retail customers at either regional or national level
- Strong commercial negotiation experience
- Good understanding of P&L management
- Excellent planning, organisation and stakeholder management skills
- Own-label experience would be highly advantageous
- Previous Morrisons experience or an established network within the retailer would be particularly valuable

Package & Location
- £55,000–£60,000 basic salary
- £4,500 car allowance
- Discretionary bonus of up to 10%
- 6% matched pension
- Hybrid working
- Hamilton preferred, with Cardiff also considered
- Flexible approach to office attendance, ideally around two days per week depending on customer requirements
The interview process will consist of an initial informal interview followed by a face-to-face second stage involving a presentation and assessment.
