We are supporting a well-established organisation with the appointment of a Business Account Manager to join its growing commercial team.
This is a commercially focused account management opportunity, responsible for managing and developing an established portfolio of B2B customers, protecting strong retention levels and identifying opportunities to grow revenue through upselling and cross-selling.
The role will also provide line management responsibility for a small team, making this an excellent opportunity for an experienced Account Manager with existing people-management experience, or a Senior Account Manager ready to take the next step.
The Role
You'll take ownership of a portfolio of approximately 60–100 customer accounts, building strong relationships and ensuring customers continue to receive value from the services available to them.
The primary focus will be account retention and growth, with approximately 75% of the role centred around existing customer relationships. You'll also identify opportunities to introduce additional services and develop revenue within the account base.
You'll also manage and support a small team of three, helping to maintain strong renewal performance while developing the team's commercial and customer-management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a portfolio of approximately 60–100 B2B customer accounts.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with key customers and decision-makers.
- Drive customer retention and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional services.
- Develop account strategies to increase revenue and customer value.
- Monitor account performance and identify opportunities for growth.
- Provide line management and day-to-day support to a small team.
- Coach and develop team members to improve commercial and account-management performance.
- Support renewal activity and work collaboratively with internal teams.
- Identify and develop opportunities for new business where appropriate.
- Manage commercial conversations, negotiations and agreements.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and provide regular reporting and forecasting.
- Work collaboratively across the wider commercial function to maximise customer opportunities.
- Travel across the UK as required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
