Summary

An excellent opportunity for anyone interested in Business Administration. This varied role includes order processing, data entry, logistics, customer enquiries and supporting marketing activities, including content creation and social media. Gain valuable experience across customer service, operations and marketing.

Wage: £18,000 a year

Training course: Business administrator (level 3)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 09.00 to 17.30

37 hours 30 minutes a week

Start date: Monday 2 November 2026

Duration: 1 year 6 months

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

As a Business Administration Apprentice, you'll have an excellent opportunity to gain insight into the general operations of a business, including client services, purchasing, logistics, sales and marketing. This varied role is ideal for someone with previous office experience who wants to develop their career within a multi-service business, gaining practical experience across administration, customer service and marketing while learning how to provide exceptional service to clients.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver a first-class service experience to our clients
  • Process quotations, customer orders and handle enquiries and queries
  • Develop strong relationships with clients and suppliers
  • Support business administration tasks, adhering to Company KPIs
  • Assist with daily operational processes, logistics and distribution
  • Handle client enquiries and bespoke requests
  • Support account management and marketing activities
  • Assist with creating marketing content for social media, email campaigns, blogs and other communications
  • Help maintain website and digital content where required
  • Support CRM databases, customer data and marketing lists
  • Assist with the preparation of reports and marketing materials
  • Go the extra mile to ensure complete customer satisfaction

What you'll learn

Skilled in the use of multiple IT packages and systems relevant to the organisation in order to:

  • Write letters or emails, create proposals, perform financial processes, record and analyse data.
  • Choose the most appropriate IT solution to suit the business problem.
  • Update and review databases, record information and produce data analysis where required.
  • Produce accurate records and documents including: emails, letters, files, payments, reports and proposals.
  • Make recommendations for improvements and present solutions to management.
  • Draft correspondence, write reports and review others' work.
  • Maintain records and files, handle confidential information in compliance with the organisation's procedures.
  • Coach others in the processes required to complete these tasks.
  • Exercise proactivity and good judgement.
  • Make effective decisions based on sound reasoning and deal with challenges in a mature way.
  • Seek advice of more experienced team members when appropriate.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships within their own team and across the organisation.
  • Demonstrate ability to influence and challenge appropriately.
  • Become a role model to peers and team members, developing coaching skills as they gain area knowledge.
  • Demonstrate good communication skills, whether face-to-face, on the telephone, in writing or on digital platforms.
  • Use the most appropriate channels to communicate effectively.

  • Answer questions from inside and outside of the organisation, representing the organisation or department.

  • Review processes autonomously and make suggestions for improvements.
  • Share administrative best-practice across the organisation e.g. coach others to perform tasks correctly.
  • Apply problem-solving skills to resolve challenging or complex complaints and be a key point of contact for addressing issues.
  • Take responsibility for initiating and completing tasks, manage priorities and time to successfully meet deadlines.
  • Positively manage the expectations of colleagues at all levels and set a positive example for others in the workplace.
  • Make suggestions for improvements to working practice, showing understanding of implications beyond the immediate environment (e.g. impact on clients, suppliers, other parts of the organisation).
  • Manage resources e.g. equipment or facilities.
  • Organise meetings and events, take minutes during meetings and create action logs as appropriate.
  • Take responsibility for logistics e.g. travel and accommodation.
  • Use relevant project management principles and tools to scope, plan, monitor and report.
  • Plan required resources to successfully deliver projects.
  • Undertake and lead projects as and when required.

Training schedule

Training will be provided in-house and on the job by experienced management and colleagues. The Line Manager has extensive experience in customer service delivery across a broad range of industries and organisations and will be directly responsible for the development of the successful candidate. They will also work closely with the Directors on marketing activities, including content creation, campaigns and wider business communications.
