Join our growing team

Gain practical experience across business administration, bid writing, social media, project support, and operational planning. This exciting apprenticeship will help you develop key workplace skills while contributing to the success of the business.

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Social Media management
  • Answer and direct incoming telephone enquiries
  • Respond to framework enquiries and maintain accurate records of activity
  • Bid writing
  • Defect allocation and recording
  • BMS and KPI monitoring and recording
  • Labour planning
  • Management of management meeting including minute taking
  • Processing of site paperwork
  • Preparation of handover documents

What you'll learn

Course contents

Skilled in the use of multiple IT packages and systems relevant to the organisation in order to: write letters or emails, create proposals, perform financial processes, record and analyse data. Examples include MS Office or equivalent packages. Able to choose the most appropriate IT solution to suit the business problem. Able to update and review databases, record information and produce data analysis where required.

Produces accurate records and documents including: emails, letters, files, payments, reports and proposals. Makes recommendations for improvements and present solutions to management. Drafts correspondence, writes reports and able to review others' work. Maintains records and files, handles confidential information in compliance with the organisation's procedures. Coaches others in the processes required to complete these tasks.

Exercises proactivity and good judgement. Makes effective decisions based on sound reasoning and is able to deal with challenges in a mature way. Seeks advice of more experienced team members when appropriate.

Training schedule

Formal training is delivered at HWGTA, located Holmer Road, Hereford HR4 9SX.

You will receive a training plan that is specific to your qualification, with sessions that are delivered through a combination of face-to-face and remote.

You will receive additional training for functional skills in English and maths will be undertaken if needed.

You will receive monthly visits from your assigned Learning and Development Specialist, who will set you work, monitor your development and wellbeing, and discuss training sessions. They will also prepare you for your End Point Assessment to gain your Level 3 Business Admin qualification.

There is also a five-day teambuilding residential trip that is held in the spring of each year offered to all apprentices on programme.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English and Maths (grade 4 or C above)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
