Summary
Join VASPBA Remote Piloted Systems as a Level 2 Administration Assistant apprentice in our growing drone sales and repair business. Gaining hands-on experience in stock administration and day-to-day business support. This is a varied role for someone organised, reliable, and keen to develop their skills in a technology business.
Wage: £12,480 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Training course: Administration assistant (level 2)
Hours: Monday – Friday 9am - 3pm. Bi-weekly attendance at Coastland College (Weymouth campus) on Tuesdays during term-time. 30 hours a week

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Receive deliveries of drones, parts, and accessories, check them against orders, and record any discrepancies
- Update stock records and help keep products, parts, and the stockroom clearly labelled and organised
- Prepare customer orders for dispatch, including checking items, packing them securely, and completing the relevant paperwork
- Support the Office Manager with routine administration, such as updating records, filing documents, and responding to straightforward enquiries
- Liaise with customers of our repair and service centre, providing updates on the progress of their repairs, answering routine enquiries, and passing technical questions to the relevant team member

What you'll learn
- Receive, retrieve, process, record, and store information and data
- Operate within organisational policies, standards, and procedures and relevant legislation respecting confidentiality; adapting to operational changes as they occur
- Use software packages and tools for example AI or automation to input and process data and information, to contribute to routine administration tasks in line with organisational policies and procedures
- Handle and communicate information in line with organisational policies, procedures, and security requirements
- Recognise and rectify issues and escalate as required. For example, stakeholder documents and reports, safeguarding concerns, or abusive behaviour
- Plan and review administration tasks allocated by supervisor
- Maintain professional relationships with stakeholders
- Monitor and report on the use of resources such as materials, equipment, and supplies
- Use agreed organisational systems and protocols to manage calendars, diaries, and booking systems
- Source information as requested by stakeholders, ensuring they are shareable. For example, client records, signpost to services, or reports
- Use continuing professional development including self-reflection to support current and future training and development needs
- Use communication tools to respond to stakeholders using professional language and organisational etiquette
- Operate within agreed health and safety standards
- Use time management tools to meet deadlines
- Handle feedback following expected professional etiquette
- Maintain wellbeing, accessing organisational support mechanisms if required
- Review and check own work
- Use cloud services to share documents for use and/or collaboration
- Protect against security threats, for example, strong passwords, two-step verification, office tailgating, and display of security passes or clothing that identifies secure workplaces
- Seek clarification and help, when required, to complete assigned tasks within agreed timeframes
Requirements
Desirable qualifications:
- GCSE in: English (grade 4)
- Maths (grade 4)

Other requirements:
You MUST be prepared to commit to your work and training for the duration of the apprenticeship. You will be required to attend an interview and assessment at Coastland College to ensure you meet the requirements for the apprenticeship. We’re a Dorset-based drone company specialising in sales, repairs, training, and aerial services. Our team supports customers ranging from individual drone users to businesses and public sector organisations. We are an authorised DJI reseller and Repair Centre and an ISO 9001 certified business. We’re a growing team with a practical, supportive approach. The apprentice will work closely with colleagues across the office, sales, and repair centre, gaining a broad understanding of how the business operates.
