Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work

As part of our Adult Education team, you'll be involved in every stage of the learner journey. You'll support learners and tutors, help organise courses and events, maintain important records and systems, and contribute to projects that genuinely make a difference in local communities.
Working alongside the Head and Deputy Head of Adult Education, you'll gain exposure to marketing, customer service, business administration, community engagement, quality improvement, and course development. You'll be encouraged to bring your own ideas, take responsibility for projects, and develop specialist skills that match your interests and career goals.
Every day offers new opportunities to learn, contribute, and make a positive impact on adult learners across our communities.
The successful apprentice will work closely with the Head of Adult Education and Deputy Head of Adult Education, supporting the day-to-day delivery of Adult Education programmes and services.
Key duties will include:
- Providing professional administrative support to the Adult Education team.
- Responding to learner, tutor, and stakeholder enquiries by email, telephone, and in person.
- Supporting enrolments, learner communications, and course administration.
- Maintaining accurate records, databases, and filing systems.
- Assisting with the organisation and administration of courses, events, and community learning activities.
- Supporting tutors with course preparation and administration.
- Monitoring course registrations, attendance, and learner feedback.
- Assisting with community outreach activities, learner recruitment events, and leaflet drops.
- Helping to promote Adult Education opportunities to local communities and stakeholders.
- Contributing to newsletters, social media content, and website updates.
- Maintaining spreadsheets and supporting the analysis of learner and course data.
- Assisting with quality assurance and service improvement activities.
- Supporting the development of new adult education courses, including researching demand, liaising with tutors, and helping recruit learners.
- Taking ownership of a small project or course development initiative during the apprenticeship and monitoring its success.
The role offers experience across administration, customer service, marketing, data analysis, and project coordination, providing excellent preparation for a career in business administration and education services.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
