Business Administration Apprentice
The apprentice will play a key role in ensuring the business meets its key goals and targets, providing general administrative support to the Operations, Sales, and Business Support Teams. This role offers valuable skills across all aspects of business administration within three key departments: Sales (including marketing), Business Support (including accounts and HR), and Operations (including installation and aftersales).
Requirements
- Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training, where you’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.
- Business Administration Level 3 Standard
- Relevant workplace training
- Functional Skills if either Maths or English are not at Level 2
- As this role involves working in HR, confidentiality and trust are essential.
- Good organisation, communication, and time management skills.
- Proactive and methodical approach with attention to detail.
- Good understanding of Word, Excel, and Outlook is essential.
Responsibilities
Sales Support Assistant
- Work in a busy sales office answering incoming calls and making outbound calls to generate sales leads.
- Book home sales appointments on our CRM system for sales representatives.
- Assist in calculating quotations and price guides for Windows and Doors for residential customers, providing quotations verbally and in writing.
- Meet and greet customers in the showroom and provide sales information on products and services.
- Understand the importance of marketing in generating sales.
Business Support Assistant
- Ensure all financial matters are accurately completed and recorded on the Sage50 accounts management system.
- Manage customer payments accurately.
- Manage supplier accounts and creditor invoices.
- Assist the business support coordinator to process payroll in liaison with the company accountant.
- Take customer payments daily and perform banking for the business.
- Maintain the customer CRM system.

Operations Support Assistant
- Provide a full installation service through to completion, working in planning, live installations, and aftersales teams.
- Liaise with customers, installers, surveyors, and suppliers, sometimes dealing with challenges.
- Support the department in planning and co-ordinating installations, liaising with installers.
- Support the department in co-ordinating aftersales calls, liaising with service engineers.
- Ensure installations are ready and all information and stock are prepared for fitting teams with clear instructions.
- Order products from suppliers.
- Work closely with the warehouse team to ensure deliveries are received on time for installations.
- Liaise with customers to ensure installations are completed to their full satisfaction.
- Provide an excellent level of customer service.
General Apprentice Responsibilities
- Complete tasks to a high standard, applying expertise and continuously improving work.
- Review processes autonomously and make suggestions for improvements.
- Share administrative best practices across the organisation.
- Apply problem-solving skills to resolve challenging or complex complaints.
- Take responsibility for initiating and completing tasks, managing priorities and time to meet deadlines.
- Positively manage the expectations of colleagues at all levels.
- Make suggestions for improvements to working practices, considering implications beyond the immediate environment.
- Manage resources (e.g., equipment or facilities).
- Organise meetings and events, take minutes, and create action logs.
- Take responsibility for logistics (e.g., travel and accommodation).
- Use relevant project management principles and tools to scope, plan, monitor, and report.
- Undertake and lead projects as and when required.

Application Process
- Your programme will be delivered online, with the following structure:
- 9 Workshops delivered online monthly, where new topics will be taught by your tutor.
- Between sessions, complete self-study tasks spread throughout the week.
- Regular 1-2-1 meetings with your tutor every 6-8 weeks.
