Cheltenham Business Administration Apprentice

Not sold on uni and the debt? There's another way in.

Skip the lecture halls and start your career instead β€” join a real business, get paid while you learn, and come out with a proper qualification and a couple of years' actual experience behind you. You don't need to know the first thing about accountancy. We'll teach you all of that.

Bath Road Full-time Level 3 Apprenticeship Office-based first year

Apply by email

University isn't the only way up β€” and for plenty of people, it's the slow, expensive way round.

There's another route: get into a real business, learn from people who actually do the work, earn while you learn, and come out the other side with experience, a qualification, and a genuine head start.

While your mates are still writing essays, you'd already be up and running.

What matters is your attitude, and that you actually like people. We'll teach you the rest β€” every step of the way.

Who you'd be joining

We're not stuffy accountants in suits.

Whatever picture you've got of an accountancy firm, park it. We're modern, we're into our tech, and the place feels more like a marketing company than anything dusty.

It's friendly, it's a brilliant spot to find your feet, and you can ask whatever you want β€” nobody's going to make you feel daft for not knowing something. That's the whole point of an apprenticeship.

We work with ambitious business owners who want to grow theirs β€” and we're a genuinely good place to learn and grow yourself.

The role

Start your actual career β€” not just a job.

No lectures. No debt. A proper head start.

This is a real job in a real business β€” not work experience, and not stuck in a corner doing the photocopying. You'll be part of the team from day one: the friendly voice on the phone, the welcoming face at the door, and the person learning how a modern practice actually runs.

You'll earn a recognised Level 3 Business Administration qualification as you work, with full training every step of the way. You don't need to know the first thing about accountancy β€” we'll teach you all of that.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer β€” it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet β€” that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right β€” and where to focus when applying.

It starts simple and routine, and gets more interesting the more you take on. Nobody expects you to walk in knowing anything β€” everyone here started somewhere. Settle in, find what you enjoy, and there's real room to grow.

Level 3

  • Business Administration qualification you earn as you work
  • Β£0: Student debt β€” you get paid while you learn
  • Day one: You start on the apprentice wage from your first week β€” with a path towards Β£30k+ further down the line

Day to day

What you'd actually be doing

Some of it's easy from day one. Some of it we'll properly train you on. All of it's real work that matters.

Front of house

Answering the phone and welcoming people in. We're not a mad-busy call centre β€” but when a client rings or pops by, you're the friendly voice and face they get. This is the heart of the job.

The everyday stuff

Scanning, sorting the post, and the little things that keep an office ticking over. Simple from day one.

The accountancy bits

Companies House confirmation statements, getting new clients set up on our system, chasing paperwork by following our steps. Sounds technical β€” it really isn't once someone's shown you. Full training, every time.

A bit of everything

Some help with our marketing, plus other things as you grow into it. It starts simple and gets more interesting the more you take on. We won't box you in.

You're never stuck on your own β€” a quick daily 10am huddle keeps the whole team connected: what everyone's doing, and anything you need a hand with. Fifteen minutes, no drama.

The one non-negotiable

You've genuinely got to like people.

There's plenty of quiet, organised, behind-the-scenes work too β€” but at its core this job is about talking to people and building relationships. Answering the phone, saying hello, being someone clients are glad to deal with.

You don't need to know what to say yet β€” we'll sort all of that. You just need to enjoy it. If chatting comes naturally to you, you'll have a great time here. If picking up the phone fills you with dread, this one's probably not for you β€” and that's completely fine.

What we stand for

Our core values

Don't stress about learning these on day one β€” we'll show you what they look like. You'll get things wrong sometimes, everyone does. We're not a blame culture; we just figure out what to do better next time and move on.

  • Bring the energy: Batteries included
  • Above the line: Ownership & accountability
  • Kaizen: Continuous improvement
  • Bring the magic: The extra bit of wow

What we're hoping you bring

You, if this rings true

Just finished school or college (or nearly), and ready to start building something β€” not just land a job.

Ideally four or five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and maths. Not quite there but reckon you'd be brilliant? Talk to us anyway β€” we'd rather hear from you.

Organised, reliable and happy to muck in with anything. Nothing's too small.

Comfortable with the normal phone-and-laptop stuff. We're a tech-driven practice, and you'll pick up our systems quickly.

Bring good energy β€” the real kind, not the forced kind. People who turn up as themselves and make everyone around them a bit better.

Probably not for you if…

This one's not your move if…

  • Picking up the phone and talking to people fills you with dread.
  • You'd rather keep your head down than learn something new.
  • You reach for excuses before ownership when something goes wrong.

Not quite ticking every box but reckon you'd be brilliant? Talk to us anyway. Bring a good attitude and a bit of yourself, and let's have a chat.

A day in the role

A typical day, roughly

Morning

Get in, grab a coffee, fire up the computer. See what's landed β€” post, messages, what's on your list.

10:00

The whole team jumps on a quick huddle β€” about fifteen minutes, catching up on what everyone's doing and flagging anything you're stuck on.

10:15

Into it β€” answering calls, saying hi to anyone who comes in, working through your tasks.

Midday

Learn something new with someone showing you how β€” a bit of company secretarial, or setting up a new client.

Lunch

Go for a walk or hit the gym if you fancy it.

Afternoon

More of the same, plus maybe a bit of marketing support β€” and a tick-off of what you've got done.

That's just one version of it. Once you've earned the flexibility, the shape of your day has room to flex too.

What you get

  • A start, not a ceiling: You'll start on the apprentice wage while you train β€” that's the first rung, not the whole ladder. As you learn, prove yourself and grow into more, your pay grows with you too (with a path towards Β£30k+ further down the line). We build careers around people, not people around roles β€” towards a senior client services role, into operations, or even into bookkeeping and accounting if that's where your interest goes.
  • A real qualification: A proper career start, full training, and a recognised Level 3 Business Administration qualification at the end of it.
  • A modern, friendly practice: Tech-driven and more like a marketing company than a dusty firm β€” and a team that genuinely wants you to do well.
  • Generous holiday & pension: Proper time off to switch off, and a pension that's looked after.
  • Team lunches on us: Regularly β€” because the best chats happen over food.
  • Never stuck on your own: A quick daily huddle and people who are genuinely happy to help. You're part of the team from day one.
  • Flexibility once you've earned it: Find your feet first, then home and hybrid
