Job Summary
Join our busy IEP team as a Business Administration Apprentice and become a key part of our day-to-day operations. You’ll be a friendly first point of contact for visitors, drivers, customers and colleagues, while developing your admin, communication and organisational skills.
Wage
£16,432 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age. National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices.
Training
- Course: Business administrator (level 3)
- Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5.00pm, with half an hour lunch. 39 hours 30 minutes a week
- Start Date: Thursday 22 October 2026
- Duration: 1 year 6 months
- Positions Available: 1
Work Responsibilities
As a Business Administration Apprentice, you’ll become an important part of the IEP office team, learning how a busy export packing business operates while developing your administration, communication and organisational skills. Your duties will include:
- Welcoming visitors and drivers to site
- Answering incoming telephone calls
- Managing the site barrier
- Carrying out general administration tasks
- Sorting and organising photographs and digital files
- Responding to general enquiries by phone and email
- Supporting the team with customer and job enquiries
- Providing general administrative support to the office and wider IEP team

- Training Provider: SEETEC BUSINESS TECHNOLOGY CENTRE LIMITED
- Training Course: Business administrator (level 3)
- Course Contents: Skilled in the use of multiple IT packages and systems, producing accurate records and documents, maintaining records and files, demonstrating good communication skills, managing resources and logistics, and using project management principles and tools.

International Export Packers (IEP) is an established export packing company based in Newark, Nottinghamshire, with over 25 years of experience providing specialist packing solutions to businesses across the UK and internationally. We design and manufacture bespoke timber cases, crates, pallets and specialist export packing for a wide range of industries. Our experienced team prepares everything from individual components to large and complex machinery for safe transportation by road, sea and air.

After the Apprenticeship
Your earnings can increase over time with an apprenticeship. Our aim is to develop the apprentice into a confident and capable member of the IEP office team, with the opportunity to progress into a permanent administrative role once the apprenticeship is successfully completed. As their knowledge, confidence and experience grow, they will gradually take on more responsibility and become involved in a wider range of business administration activities. This could include handling customer and job enquiries, supporting the day-to-day running of the office, liaising with customers and suppliers, and taking greater responsibility for administrative processes.
