Idle CE Primary School - Administrator Apprenticeship
Idle CE Primary School is seeking to appoint an Administrator who is highly organised and proactive. The successful candidate will be working to provide business support to the main office and reception. You will need to be personable and a good communicator.
Wage
- £15,392 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age
- National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices
- Pay will be adjusted for term time only (38 weeks a year + 10 days)
Training Course
- Business administrator (level 3)
Hours
- Monday to Friday including a day release to Shipley College on a Thursday. Make sure to discuss working week at interview.
- 37 hours a week

What You'll Do at Work
To assist in the provision of high quality professional, flexible, proficient and constructive clerical, administration, financial support and reception service to the school. Responsible to the Office Manager/Headteacher from whom they will receive formal supervision and who will allocate work when necessary. However, much of the work is self-generating, and the post holder will be expected to work within established procedures and guidelines and to prioritise day-to-day work, referring only exceptional or complex queries to senior members of staff. In the absence of the Office Manager would be expected to liaise with senior team members to ensure continuation of essential services. To provide prompt and effective information, advice and access to services provided by the School to parents/carers, governors, community groups, members of the public and other agencies, dealing with requests for help and intervention, seeking guidance from and working in conjunction with seniors.

Course Contents
Skilled in the use of multiple IT packages and systems relevant to the organisation in order to: write letters or emails, create proposals, perform financial processes, record and analyse data. Examples include MS Office or equivalent packages. Able to choose the most appropriate IT solution to suit the business problem. Able to update and review databases, record information and produce data analysis where required. Produces accurate records and documents including: emails, letters, files, payments, reports and proposals. Makes recommendations for improvements and present solutions to management. Drafts correspondence, writes reports and able to review others' work. Maintains records and files, handles confidential information in compliance with the organisation's procedures. Coaches others in the processes required to complete these tasks.

Training Schedule
Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship Standard English and maths Functional skills at Level 2 if required Flexible training with Shipley College based on 7hrs a week including online sessions with the tutor and workplace training
Desirable Qualifications
- GCSE in:
- English (grade 4+, A*-C or L2 equivalent)
- Maths (grade 4+, A*-C or L2 equivalent)
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
