About Us
Our Education and Young People Service, within the Employment and Skills Hubs, play a vital role in supporting residents to access education, employment, and training opportunities. We work in partnership with local employers, education providers, and community organisations to ensure individuals are supported to reach their full potential and contribute positively to their communities.
About the Role
We are offering an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Business Administrator Apprentice. This role will give you the chance to gain valuable experience while working towards a Level 2 Business Administration qualification. You will contribute to the smooth running of the Employment and Skills Hubs, supporting a service that makes a real difference to people’s lives across Gloucestershire.
You will be part of a supportive team that values learning, development, and collaboration, helping you build the skills and confidence needed for a successful career.
The Administration Assistant Apprenticeship is a 12-month programme designed to support individuals entering employment while developing the essential knowledge, skills, and behaviours required for a successful career in administration. The programme includes a 10-month structured training period, during which apprentices build core administrative skills through a combination of on-the-job learning and guided training. This is followed by an Apprenticeship Assessment period where apprentices showcase their learning to successfully achieve the apprenticeship.
This apprenticeship provides a strong entry route into employment, equipping apprentices with practical, workplace-ready skills in areas such as communication, organisation, time management, customer service, IT systems, and professional working practices that are transferable across sectors.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
