We’re looking for a Business Administration Apprentice

We’re looking for a Business Administration Apprentice to join our welcoming and collaborative Health, Safety, Environment & Wellbeing team in Eastleigh.

You’ll learn while you work, helping the team provide a responsive, accurate administration service and support to colleagues across the organisation.

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

You will:

  • Undertake and learn a variety of administration tasks to support the team including internal / external correspondence.
  • Be open to learning the bespoke systems used within the team.
  • Assist with issuing out the helpdesk tickets / queries. Dealing with basic enquiries and assigning more complex requests to the wider team as necessary.
  • Raise orders on the ordering system, Check against invoices and mark orders when goods received so payments can be made.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Monitor group e-mail in-boxes to ensure e-mails are handled efficiently.
  • Training: Assist with making up training packs for internal courses or booking external training courses.
  • Organising starter / leaver requirements i.e. equipment / PPE.
  • Provide meeting support across the team.
  • Scan and save documents.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with team members and across the business.
  • Ensure all online coursework is completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Attend any meetings with your course provider as and when required.
  • Any other reasonable tasks as requested by managers.

What you'll learn

Course contents

Skilled in the use of multiple IT packages and systems relevant to the organisation in order to: write letters or emails, create proposals, perform financial processes, record and analyse data. Examples include MS Office or equivalent packages. Able to choose the most appropriate IT solution to suit the business problem. Able to update and review databases, record information and produce data analysis where required.

Produces accurate records and documents including: emails, letters, files, payments, reports and proposals. Makes recommendations for improvements and present solutions to management.
