Summary
A Business Administration Apprentice is required for a leading electrical wholesaler. The candidate will support all departments along with serving customers on the trade counter when busy. This is a fantastic career progression opportunity for the right candidate.
Wage: £19,136 a year
Training Course: Business administrator (level 3)
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5.00pm, 40 hours a week
Start Date: Monday 2 November 2026
Duration: 1 year 6 months

What is an Electrical Wholesaler? Electrical wholesalers sell the products we all use in our homes, businesses, entertainment venues, and cafés that give us access to electricity. From lighting our homes through to floodlighting a football match, from recharging a mobile phone to recharging an electric vehicle. The products you will be working with are used in domestic, industrial, and commercial settings, and are installed by contractors and electricians.
We are currently looking to recruit a full-time apprentice 8am-5pm Monday to Friday.
TASK INCLUDE:
- Accounts payable
- Accounts receivable
- Expenses (plus managers)
- Filling & general office tidying
- Welcoming visitors
- Collating data
- Maintaining & issuing data
- Health & safety
- Maintaining the business's LinkedIn page with promotions and information
- Marketing
- Trade counter refreshments stocked
- Various other tasks
Requirements
- Experience: Office experience and Microsoft skills are essential
- Skills: Strong work ethic and initiative, Ability to work under pressure, Superb organisational skills, Attention to detail
The Apprenticeship Training Agency will employ you on behalf of Edmundson Electrical whilst you are completing your apprenticeship. Apprenticeship qualification will be Business Admin Level 2/3 depending on age/experience which is carried out within the workplace. Allocated time will be allocated for you to complete work.

Training
Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.

Training Course: Business administrator (level 3)
What you'll learn Skilled in the use of multiple IT packages and systems relevant to the organisation in order to:
- Write letters or emails
- Create proposals
- Perform financial processes
- Record and analyse data
Examples include MS Office or equivalent packages.
Able to choose the most appropriate IT solution to suit the business problem. Able to update and review databases, record information, and produce data analysis where required. Produces accurate records and documents including: emails, letters, files, payments, reports, and proposals. Makes recommendations for improvements and presents solutions to management. Drafts correspondence, writes reports, and is able to review others' work. Maintains records and files, handles confidential information in compliance with the organisation's procedures. Coaches others in the processes required to complete these tasks. Exercises proactivity and good judgement. Makes effective decisions based on sound reasoning and is able to deal with challenges in a mature way. Seeks advice of more experienced team members when appropriate. Builds and maintains positive relationships within their own team and across the organisation. Demonstrates ability to influence and challenge appropriately. Training Schedule Completing a Level 2/3 Business Administration Apprenticeship Standard, consisting of:
- Knowledge and competence qualification in Business Administration
- End-Point Assessment (EPA) - final test and observation
The vocational and academic training aspects are separated and delivered by separate teams. The vocational training and assessment are conducted, more often than not, on-site according to the employers wishes. Notice of dates is agreed well in advance of a site visit. Training and assessment are conducted both on and off the job, according to the needs of the course and the learner. Every effort is made to ensure the best result is achieved by the learner.
